Ken Ham Says It’s ‘Completely Untrue’ He’s Against Gay People. 8 Hours Later Calls for Christians to ‘Take Back the Rainbow’
Creationist Owns Religious Theme Parks Including Ark Encounter and Creation Museum
Creationist Ken Ham is hypocritically insisting that he and his “ministry” are not against gay people. But he’s also calling for Christians to “take back the rainbow” because “God owns it.”
Ham owns a non-profit company that owns two tourist attractions designed to spread the word of the Christian God. AiG – Answers in Genesis, is Ham’s company that runs his Creation Museum and Ark Encounter theme parks.

Ham not only believes every word of the Bible is true and that the answers to all the world’s questions exist in that book, he requires all employees sign a declaration of faith embracing and supporting his religious beliefs, including those against gay people.
As Hemant Mehta at Friendly Atheist reports, on Monday Ham posted a tweet insisting he and AiG are not “against” gay people.
People often claim Christians are “against gay people.†But for @AiG, that is completely untrue.
— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) July 17, 2017
It’s a ludicrous claim.
“Sure, his website wrongly claims that homosexuality violates evolutionary laws,” Mehta notes.
“Sure, the Statement of Faith that all AiG employees are required to sign says that the ‘only legitimate marriage sanctioned by God is the joining of one naturally born man and one naturally born woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.’ Which means Ham won’t hire LGBT people or their allies, including Christian ones,” Mehta adds. “Sure, Ham says gay ‘marriage‘ — with quotation marks — is not a civil rights issue.”
This false claim by right wing Christian activists is absurd.
And to prove it, let’s look at a few tweets Ham posted barely eight hours after his claim he’s not against gay people.
“God owns the rainbow”:
The @ArkEncounter is lit permanently at night with a rainbow to remind the world that God owns the rainbow & is a sign of His covenant pic.twitter.com/U0dmKnXV2v

“Christians need to take back the rainbow”:
Christians need to take back the rainbow as we do @ArkEncounter -God owns it-He decreed it’s a sign of His covenant with man after the Flood pic.twitter.com/cNR51zTbPX

“it’s God’s rainbow & He determines its meaning”:
We now have the new permanent rainbow lights @ArkEncounter so all can see it’s God’s rainbow & He determines its meaning in Genesis 6 pic.twitter.com/zdT0g8Jevp

If that’s not enough, here’s a small sampling of remarks Ken Ham has made about LGBT people – he’s posted about 100 tweets against LGBT people, same-sex marriage, and more:
Most who support Gay Marriage really want to impose their views on everyone else! https://t.co/g1t5HNT33V

If people don’t believe the Bible,I understand why they accept gay marriage/abortion etc.But God’s Word calls them sin. A worldview conflict
— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) May 12, 2017
Watch for those who spew hate filled comments when I stand on the Bible and state that Gay Marriage, Abortion, Adultery, Fornication are sin

What’s another name for: Abortion, Gay Marriage, Homosexual behavior, Transgender, Agender, Null gendered, non-binary, intersex: Sin!

Gay Marriage? No.“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one fleshâ€Genesis 2:24

Secularists who claim I’m intolerant for saying Gay Marriage is wrong are intolerant of my position based on the Bible

Abortion, pedophilia, polygamy, Euthanasia, gay marriage–symptoms of what happens when a culture abandons God’s Word as absolute authority

You can’t change your skin shade or ear shape -but you can change your behavior – Gay “marriage” is not a civil rights issue but a moral one
— Ken Ham (@aigkenham) February 24, 2016
If Ken Ham wants to believe the Bible is the true and literal word of God he has to own that, and all it includes.Â
