Trump Tweeted a Photo of His Chief of Staff Face-Palming in White House Meeting – It’s Now Deleted

Published

on

President Donald Trump on Thursday tweeted out a photo of a White House meeting with the Agricultural Roundtable — but that also showed White House chief of staff John Kelly putting his head in his hands.

However, as pointed out by MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin, the tweet no longer appears on the president’s Twitter timeline, which suggests that either he or someone on his staff deleted it.

This is the second time that Kelly has been caught face-palming during official White House business. Last year, Kelly was shown with his head in his hands as Trump referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “Rocket Man” during a speech before the United Nations.

Although Kelly was widely credited with bringing a greater sense of discipline to the White House, he has seen his influence fade in recent months.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Prepping to Exit the White House

Published

on

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is preparing to leave the White House. CBS News reports the press secretary, along with deputy press secretary Raj Shah, “are planning their departures.”

Huckabee Sanders has been widely criticized from both sides of the aisle for repeatedly lying to reporters, and refusing to acknowledge those lies even when called out on them specifically.

NCRM reported that in May there were only nine “daily” press briefings. Eight were held by Huckabee Sanders, one by Shah. The briefings are remarkably short as is Huckabee Sanders’ attitude toward the White House press corps.

Sanders “has told friends that she plans to leave the administration at the end of the year,” CBS reports, citing sources inside the White House and close to the administration.

This is a breaking news and developing story. Details may change. This story will be updated, and NCRM will likely publish follow-up stories on this news. Stay tuned and refresh for updates.

Is Sarah Huckabee Sanders About to Get the Ax? Washington Insiders Are Betting Yes.

Published

How much longer will Sarah Huckabee Sanders run Donald Trump’s communications team?

Washington insiders are betting it won’t be long, according to Politico’s Annie Karni.

On MSNBC’s Hardball, Karni revealed that many members of Trump’s communications team are worried “the axe may be coming for them” following the leak of a repulsive joke about “dying” John McCain’s opinion on torture not mattering. Already, the White House has scrapped its regular staff meetings over fears that the contents will be leaked.

Now, “word on the street” is that Huckabee Sanders will be jettisoned right around her one-year anniversary in the job, which is July.

“The betting game in Washington is, ‘How long will Sarah Sanders last? Will she push on past her one year mark in the job, which is in July,’” Karni said.

Trump Didn’t Tell Nikki Haley He Canceled the Russian Sanctions – But He Did Tell Russia

Published

For the past 24 hours a top news story has been the Trump administration embarrassment of not telling UN Ambassador Nikki Haley that after a joint State Dept. – White House economic team decision to impose sanctions on Russia, President Trump intervened and canceled them.

And not only did Trump “change course,” no one bothered to tell Haley. But on the very same day the UN Ambassador was telling America of the new sanctions, the Trump White House was telling Russia the truth: there would be none.

Haley made the talk show circuit Sunday, telling Americans the sanctions – for Russia enabling chemical warfare by Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad on his own people – would be implemented formally by the White House, if they hadn’t been already.

Trump was watching Haley and “grew angry,” according to The New York Times. Other reports say Trump’s anger involved a good deal of swearing.

Newly-minted Trump National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow made it worse, telling the media Haley got ahead of herself and “confused.”

She told CNN, “I don’t get confused.”

She’s right.

“According to several officials, the White House did not inform Ms. Haley that it had changed course on sanctions, leaving her to hang out alone,” the Times reports.

But according to CNN Chief National Security Correspondent Jim Sciutto, while neither the President nor his team didn’t bother to tell their UN Ambassador Trump changed course, one group was made aware of the reversal: Russia.

The “Trump administration notified Russian Embassy in Washington no additional US sanctions were coming,” Sciutto noted on Twitter, citing a Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman’s remarks to CNN.

Sciutto’s report is similar to an earlier report by Bloomberg.

“The Trump administration notified Russia’s U.S. embassy in Washington Sunday that it has no plans to impose any further sanctions soon, according to a Foreign Ministry official,” Bloomberg reports.
