‘I’m an NRA Member and Your Comments Make Me Sick’: Internet Trounces Dana Loesch Over Video

Published

on

The National Rifle Association tweeted out one of Dana Loesch’s NRA propaganda videos Thursday night, and social media commentators are neither pleased nor impressed. The video literally and figuratively evokes violent imagery, and in a stunning act of hyperbole tries to defend President Trump.

“We are witnesses to the most ruthless attack on a president, and the people who voted for him, and the free system that allowed it to happen in American history,” Loesch begins. Originally released last year, it’s titled “The Ultimate Insult.”

“From the highest levels of government, to their media, universities and billionaires their fate will be failure and they will perish in the political flames of their own fires. their hateful defiance of his legitimacy is an insult to each of us,” Loesch says.

“But the ultimate insult is that they think we’re so stupid that we’ll let them get away with it. These saboteurs, slashing away with their leaks and sneers, their phony accusations and gagging sanctimony, drive their daggers through the heart of our future, poisoning our belief that honest custody of our institutions will ever again be possible. So they can then build their utopia from the ashes of what they burned down. No, their fate will be failure and they will perish in the political flames of their own fires,” she continues.

“We are the National Rifle Association of America. And we are freedom’s safest place.”

Online, some responded with anger and outrage, some reminded Loesch that President Lincoln was assassinated, and other just mocked her and her message:

Dan Rather to Hold Trump Accountable for Violence Against the Press

President Donald Trump has spent several rallies calling out the “fake news media” standing at the back of the rally sites filming the event. He’s even gone so far as to egg on a digital war against CNN with memes and gifs. Veteran newsman Dan Rather believes the president is culpable if someone acts out on that hate.

In an op-ed for News and Guts, Rather brought up the chanting of “CNN sucks” during yesterday’s rally in Tampa, Florida. While the chant isn’t unusual in the Trump era, the people crowding around reporter Jim Acosta and screaming at him was a sight not previously seen before.

Rather called the Trump attacks “undemocratic” to the point of “inviting, even inciting, violence.” He nailed the president for “whipping up the crowd into a frenzy” that he’ll ultimately explain away. Those on the right are already mocking Acosta for saying anything about it and calling him a snowflake.

Urban Radio’s April Ryan told CNN’s Don Lemon Wednesday that she is among the several reporters who’ve been forced to hire security for protection after the president called her out. Meanwhile, she noted, Sarah Huckabee Sanders got thrown out of a restaurant and she got Secret Service protection.

“Jim Acosta’s life, in my opinion, was in jeopardy … there was a safety issue,” she said.

“Reveling in the raucous chorus of democracy is one thing,” Rather wrote. “That is not what this is. This is about undermining accountability and deflecting from honest and fair questions. It is about preparing his base to deny truth and the justice that it may inevitably bring.”

He said that watching Acosta’s video made him “sick” and that he can feel the hair on the back of his neck rise. He called Acosta a “pro,” who, along with other White House press, “are doing hard work in difficult trench warfare.”

Rather noted that Acosta and CNN have become a symbol for “the enemy of the people” to Trump’s fans.

“He’s in the most danger, professionally and personally—and perhaps even physically,” he continued. All while “his critics will look for any slip-up, real or imagined, to pounce. He’s in a cage with big, dangerous cats. He has to be alert and careful to survive.”

He closed by calling for Trump to be held “personally accountable” if anything ever happens to the press in this environment.

Watch: Tomi Lahren Attacks and Berates the ‘Tolerant Left’ Then Asks Why We Can’t All Get Along

Published

on

Lahren is more upset over the press secretary being politely asked to leave and getting her cheese plate comped than she is the thousands of children who very likely will never see their parents again.

Tomi Lahren is back. The conservative Fox News commentator known for her racist remarks last month earned the nickname “Xenophobic Rage Barbie” after defending Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly’s anti-immigrant remarks.

Now she is attacking all those on the left, asking why they aren’t “loving and tolerant” – something conservatives claim liberals should be forced to be, even in the face of their own intolerance. And after detailing a litany of insults she feels best represent liberals, while wholly ignoring the extraordinary attacks on America from the right, Lahren demands to know why we can’t all just get along (video below).

Seriously.

“When did we get to the point where we can’t even stand to be in the presence of someone with opposing political views?” Lahren, 25-year old a multi-millionaire with a lucrative Fox News contract and a home in Los Angeles asks. She has literally made millions voicing her ill-informed opinions that consistently distort liberal ideology and attack the left.

“It’s ugly and it’s disheartening to watch,” Lahren says, wholly unaware that her entire manufactured persona exists only because people on the right support her extremist hate-filled views.

“Whether it’s Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders getting kicked out of a restaurant, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Cho being shouted down by students, protesters harassing DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant, or having water thrown at me while I brunched with my parents – one thing is for sure: The so-called ‘loving and tolerant left’ seems to be anything but,” Lahren charges.

Not once does she bother to tell her viewers that those acts of protest against agents of the U.S government who are supposed to represent the American people (sans Lahren) are all because the Trump administration is separating young children, even babies and toddlers, from their parents and sending them to child concentration camps.

Lahren is literally more upset over the White House press secretary being politely asked to leave a rural Virginia farm-to-tabe restaurant and getting her cheese plate comped than she is the thousands of children who very likely will never see their parents again.

Shen then goes after feminists, who she calls “the female empowerment squad,” asking “conservative women mean less to you?” and, “Are we not worthy of your advocacy?”

After claiming she supports same-sex couples turned “away for being gay, or otherwise different,” Lahren concludes: “can we just treat people like people?”

Seriously.

But Lahren is just cherrypicking and lying.

She concludes by going after Rep. Maxine Waters, whose remarks are now getting her death threats from the right. What did the Democratic Congresswoman say that was so offensive Lahren says a Republican saying the same “would have been shamed into resignation”?

This, as NPR reported:

‘If you think we’re rallying now you ain’t seen nothing yet,’ Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif, told supporters at a rally in Los Angeles over the weekend. ‘If you see anybody from that [Trump] Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.’

That, according to Lahren, is cause for exiting Congress.

It’s not. Waters was not advocating for violence, and anyone who claims she was is lying. Period.

Meanwhile, many on social media did “push back” against Lahren’s remarks:

In her two-and-a-half-minute rant, Lahren makes clear: she is exhaustively insincere and uninformed. And she’s not helping America.
