Gays Love Each Other Just Like Ariel Castro Loved The Women He Raped Suggests Fox Contributor

by David Badash on August 2, 2013

in Bigotry Watch,Discrimination,News,Religion

Sandy Rios, a Fox News contributor and American Family Association radio talk show host today on her AFR radio show compared the love two gay men feel for each other to the “love” kidnapper, rapist, and murderer Ariel Castro felt for the women he kept captive as slaves in his home.

Rios was speaking with Chicago pastor Erwin Lutzer, who insisted that pedophiles also “love” the children they rape.

Lutzer also claimed that same-sex marriage leads to the destruction of the family and “confusion” for children.

Both were arguing that only one man, one woman love is real love, and that the love same-sex couples feel is different from heterosexual love, which is both offensive and ludicrous.

The American Family Association also hosts Bryan Fischer, and is a certified anti-gay hate group.

In June, Rios falsely claimed that there are “epidemic” levels of “sexual abuse in the male gay community.”

In March, Hillary Clinton’s announcement supporting same-sex marriage inspired Rios to suggest that the former Secretary of State may be a lesbian.

And last year, Rios falsely claimed that America’s embrace of Ellen DeGeneres will bring “the complete eradication of the traditional family.”

Nope, Nazi slut.

James_M_Martin August 2, 2013 at 7:54 pm

There we go, the same old tired pedophile stereotype, part and parcel of the Fox Noise propaganda machine. Guests like this are given warm welcome at Fox because whereas it once was the house organ for the GOP, it now caters almost exclusively to the more rabid, more wingnutty Tea Party as well as the religious right, including people like Tony (the PAC man, not the actor) Perkins. I know the phrase primarily applies to the gross lie lodged by anti-semites claiming that "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" was authentic and that Jews really did murder babies to use their fat in secret rituals, but I sometimes wonder why there isn't some queer equivalent to the "blood libel." I recall almost crashing my car one day in the '90s listening to Rush Limbaugh and hearing him say that "N.O.W. is a lesbian organization" simply because Eleanor Smeal, who headed it at the time, was in fact an out lesbian. But Limbaugh was attempting to brand all members of N.O.W. as same-sexually oriented, which was a gross lie. If the statement was designed to discourage straight women from joining N.O.W., it probably worked to some extent. Comparing gays to Ariel Castro is similarly gross: untrue and outrageously defamatory. It is unfortunate that a group of people — a class, as it were — cannot resort to the courts to redress slanderous statements reflecting upon all. This dork would be a class action defendant in a New York nanosecond.

That's the whole point — that's why the AFA is an official hate group. Their agenda is to dehumanize GLBTs by any means necessary, and reality is not in the mix. Normal standards of human conduct don't apply to these monsters, and their audiences just lap it up, because it gives them the excuse they need to be just as horrible.

And Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox, makes William Randolph Hearst look like a responsible journalist. He's all about sensationalism, and to hell with facts.

These people are not stupid — vicious, yes, but not stupid. When gay-hating stops paying off, they'll move to the next victims. It's all about the money.

Mykelbarber August 2, 2013 at 8:02 pm

I am sick to death of these whackadoos being given a platform to advance their agenda of hate. When will the LGBT community stand up to these bigot bullies and demand they recant every last lie that has ever fallen from their lips or face legal consequences?

garthkitty August 2, 2013 at 8:17 pm

Sick bitch. Rape is a HATE CRIME. Pedophilia is a HATE CRIME. Being gay is not a CRIME. This women does not have a Christian bone in her body and either does the AFA. They are criminals and they support crime. Crime against the bullied children of this country whether or not they are straight or gay. Hateful people, talking about a pedophile like they are innocent just to make a point. SCUM!

sdfrenchie August 3, 2013 at 10:10 am

And they donate tons of money to the Republicans. Another hate crime.

You would think as we grow and evolve as a society that it would include every human being. That is not true in anyway. It's funny how civilizations before us had more sense on such topics, not all, but really? We will always have one minded people in this world, I just hope we hear less of their opinions. You also can't speak for others, and love is love, it isn't just confined to one orientation.

tomchicago01 August 2, 2013 at 9:32 pm

vile, even for Fux News. She has succeeded in out-Coultering Coulter, and has taken a giant lead in the race to the drain.

keithffarrell August 3, 2013 at 2:26 am

I really take offence at this comment, I would if I live in the US open a as against her with the police. this is defamation

elizapar11 August 3, 2013 at 4:14 am

Sandy and Erwin,
Who kidnaps, rapes and murders both women and young girls? Straight men, not anyone from the LGBT community. Who commits child abuse and murders children? Straight people, usually men. Adultery and divorce hurt children, not gay marriage. The divorce rate is high in the US. Maybe if you straights kept your vows instead of cheating on each other, then you can talk about the sanctity of marriage. Until then, mind your own business.

MIARob August 3, 2013 at 9:08 am

This Rios woman is willfully, wrongfully stupid. Her hateful pandering to the ignorant religious right is as harmful as it is false. We need to establish a legal but thoroughly swift process whereby we can responsibly take people like her down for the gross lies and distortions she utters.

shaulis August 3, 2013 at 9:35 am

Fox and this Rios lady are stupid and as the adage goes you can't fix stupid. I will venture to say even she knows what she said was wrong but said it anyway because of her audience.

happycrabby August 3, 2013 at 10:26 am

I think Ms. Rios was put on FOX to reach the Christian Hispanic audience she does not speak for the majority of Hispanics in the USA. Hispanics gave over 60 percent of their vote to the President. In addition, from a very macho community, Hispanics are favoring gay marriage. As a Hispanic gay male I am appalled that this fake blue eyed, bottle bleach blond Hispanic would not only say what she did but imply that Hillary might be a lesbian. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any problem with people dying their hair or wearing colored contacts. It's just the Christian Hispanic community that she is attempting to reach are usually more true to their Hispanic culture. In my opinion, Fox is trying to make a Hispanic more aesthetically pleasing to their older white audience. But, that's just my opinion. I really wish someone would airbrush Ms. Rios roots her very dark hair is showing.

sdfrenchie August 3, 2013 at 10:33 am

To think these people breed and raise their children to believe as they do. We need to know how G.L.A.A.D. is reacting to this bullshit and if and when their attorneys are going to approach the attorneys at ACLU to take AFA, NOM, Westboro Baptist Church, and every other goddam nuisance outfit that put this sort of crap out over the air or in person at funerals. It's bad enough that Scalia and friends couldn't see fit to put the Constitution first and give us equality in the whole nation, but for the gay people in those states that will likely never be recognized as equal and for all the rest of us who have to have our days ruined by hearing this shit over and over and over again, we need a break and they need to be silenced. They all pour tons of money into the pockets of Tea Party Republicans, and some legislators in certain states are bona fide members of these groups.

As often as I send scathing letters to Washington, D.C. about the hate groups, I never read anywhere that any Democrat other than Hillary Clinton is speaking out in our favor, if at all. After one such letter sent directly to the White House via email, a spokesperson for President Obama wrote back and said the White House doesn't keep a list of hate groups. Like hell they don't, and if that's true, then they should.

The only other alternative I can think of is to take a hint from the ladies of Texas, the good people of North Carolina and Wisconsin, and get out there and protest. They're so afraid of us as it is they probably would be too terrified to come out of their buildings if they were surrounded by LGBT.

I'm an old man already. I don't want to spend the rest of my life listening to this shit and being pissed off all day long because of it. Since no one else seems to want to take the initiative to fight back, it's up to us. We don't need to show our Pride just once a year. We need to show it every day of our lives. I lived through the Civil Rights Movement and can still hear in my head the shouts, "I'm black and I'm proud!", and all those beautiful African American voices singing, "We Shall Overcome". I'm gay and I'm proud and I've never been ashamed of it a day in my life. But if we don't get off our asses and show our strength aside from dancing on floats through cities once a year we'll never solve this problem. I despise anyone who hurts a child or a woman and the thought of anyone being low enough to rape a woman or child, it's just beyond my thought processes.

Be proud and get really angry and shut these motherfuckers up once and for all!!!!!

ssinsf August 3, 2013 at 4:17 pm

Hey Sandy Rios, you have no right to judge others. And you should keep your mouth shut when you have no idea what you're talking about. You clearly haven't a single clue about anything authentically gay. You have talking points based on your own ignorance and hate, but a clue you have not. Educate yourself before extolling the drivel that drools from your slack jaw.

Frilx August 3, 2013 at 4:23 pm

Woman you have NO idea what you're saying!!

georgiegirl50 August 3, 2013 at 4:38 pm

After listening to this commentary, I think that you are not reaching out "in love" but in "control". You are but a representative of G-d, not G-d. All creatures are made in G-d's image. You have no idea what G-d wants. A child with two parents that love her/him, is indeed a very fortunate child. Not all children fare so well. When you have a child who is Gay, you love and accept them anyway because they are a child of this G-d you speak about. In the Old Testament, homosexuality is definitely represented.

AmaCutePuppy August 3, 2013 at 6:12 pm

I hate people like her who think they know gay people more than the gays themselves.

BBushey August 3, 2013 at 8:35 pm

"The American Family Association also hosts Bryan Fischer, and is a certified anti-gay hate group." What makes them a "hate" group? And who "certifies" that?

unu August 3, 2013 at 8:41 pm

The expert on hate groups, the SPLC

unu August 3, 2013 at 8:48 pm

When you have to deceive and lie to get your point across you no longer have credibility nor does the group you represent. I'm talking to you Sandy Rios and Bryan Fischer. Good people need to listen to honest people, not liars.

ReichWingHater August 3, 2013 at 9:47 pm

Can you imagine if someone went on another "news" show and called this bitch a
"Sp*c welfare queen"???? Good God Almighty World War III would break out…I hate that word and that would be an awful thing…so she needs to knock it off with defaming us…she's just a nasty, egotistical bitch…I don't care what ethnicity she is..

labman57 August 3, 2013 at 10:34 pm

The intentional grouping of homosexuality and gay marriage with prostitution, polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia, rape, … even murder … is simply further evidence that the Republican Party is still laden with sanctimonious, socially-regressive bigots who wish to impose their own religious mores onto the rest of society.

Serenifly August 5, 2013 at 9:40 am

There is also the simple matter that so-called religious "morality" is simply not based on consent and harm. They only have two boxes "sin" and "not sin". So anything sexual outside straight marriage, no matter if it causes harm, is considered a "sin".

teeveedub August 4, 2013 at 1:06 pm

More proof that, to be on Fox News, you have to have that winning combination of complete misinformation, seething hatred, and an IQ of 50 or less.

rainbowman56 August 4, 2013 at 1:38 pm

There should be a way to legally prosecute vile parasites like her!

DesertSandwitch August 4, 2013 at 11:26 pm

her comments and comments of those like her are worth less then the effort to respond… what if no one paid any attention to them… or posted about them. Prob wouldn't work would it…? Would be kinda' like SS and Europe
. if you keep quiet they might go away. disgusted with Fox… and all the others who support this kind of dribble.

EdnaFurburger August 5, 2013 at 8:43 am

I'm betting she was once dumped by a dude who came out of the closet after going down on her. Literally, 3 minutes later.

Novagain August 5, 2013 at 12:10 pm

I'm gonna say this in the nicest way I can…
Die. In. A. Fire. Bitch.

prrodmod August 5, 2013 at 1:54 pm

Hey Sandy Rios – in the words of Terrence Stamp – why don't you light your tampon and blow your box apart, because obviously that's the only bang you're gonna get.

Inis_Magrath August 6, 2013 at 11:07 am

This is very good for the LGBT community. When people like Sandy "KKK" Rios say batshit crazy things about gay people, the whole world knows it's crazy. This helps make LGBT people look sympathetic while the Sandy Rios's of the world look increasingly pathetic.
