Yesterday, a minority of Senators successfully filibustered a bipartisan bill that would have expanded background checks to close the gun show loophole. Nine out of ten Americans, including the vast majority of Republicans, Democrats, men, women, NRA members, those under 50, those over 50 — everyone wanted this bill to pass.

So, these 45 U.S. Senators voted the way the NRA wanted them to, and against common sense, humanity, and how their constituents demanded.

Please, take a moment and tweet your feelings to these Senators, who let the NRA, their ill-advised thought of trying to keep their jobs, and poor judgment rule the day.

I don't have a tweeter account. I do however have a bitch with what happened.
I had to have a piss test and a background check to get a jog emptying trash cans in an office. I had to have a background check and credit check for an apartment. You name it and we all have to submit to a host of checks for almost everything we do but it is OK to sell a weapon to anyone?!

The GOP is kissing the ass of the NRA for the money as well as the religious right for the money.
They are not a political party working for the people when the people want this. They are working for who is paying the bills and lining their pockets.

There should be limits on filibusters because of the constant abuse by the GOP over the last 5 years. They have turned our government into a joke.
The sad part is there are people who will keep voting for them no matter the platform, like my mom, because 1) They are too lazy to find out what is really going on and 2) because that is what their family has always voted. Neither one is a good reason to vote at all.

You know you're living in an oligarchy when you vote for people to represent you and they get rich on insider trading and peddling influence to the pimps on K Street, making these anti-altruists whores for corporate America.
